Last week, BioPacific’s Andrew Kelly and Sujit Kalidas attended Life Sciences Queensland’s Futures Showcase at the Brisbane Technology Park. This event considered challenges and opportunities within the changing industry, as well as what life sciences might look like in the future.
Industry members, government officials, commercialisation experts and scientists were among over a hundred attendees that met to network, learn and debate. The four key topics covered during the showcase were Innovation Futures, Health Innovation, Advanced Manufacturing and Agricultural Innovation.
Also at the event was Venture Partner Peter Andrews in his role as a moderator of the Health Innovation panel. Peter presented a very entertaining “hypothetical” to illustrate the difficulties faced by the biotechnology industry in the world of rapid, media-driven news.
This is one of many events throughout Australia and New Zealand that our team attends to meet with our major innovations centres, companies and venture capitalists.
